Stretch (ATC)

I am leaving this Thursday to speak at the Appalachian Teen Convention and theme of the convention is called STRETCH. I am hoping (with God's help) that I can stretch their minds and faith so that the students and adults would be more like Christ. It is always very humbling to be asked to go and speak to a group of people you normally wouldn't see. I have been praying hard for the students and adult leaders who will attend. If you will say a prayer this week for one of the following then I would be gratefully...

Pray for those who come to the convention to see the "Real Jesus" and be drawn to Him. So many times people are impressed with bands, skits or the speaker and my hope is that the students see the glory of God through the weekend.

Pray for the students... Many students are facing so many things like divorce, peer pressure, sex, pornography and so much more. Often times students go to conferences broken, and I hope they come home renewed.

Pray for the youth ministers. We look forward to weekends like this where we can spend time with students and just worship together. We are often up all night talking about serious matters and there is a little goofing off from time to time. Pray that God would give them strength.

Pray for the adult leaders. Adults are just like students just bigger. They often come to conferences broken but willing to share and give their time so that students see Jesus. They are truly my heros and need your prayers.

Pray for Dave and Crockett. Dave McCants and his band will be leading worship and of course I am doing the preaching. I hope people don't walk out thinking that we were a great team or it was a great weekend because of what was said or done on stage. Pray that Dave and I get out of the way and let God do what he does best. Lord keep us both humble...
